So I'm ALL UP IN MY FEELINGS TODAY!!!
Ok, I know, I know. Everybody is on FB, well most everybody. I'm talking ranges in ages from 10 thru 110. So much so that when I asked my 20 year old daughter "why don't you have a FB page" She says to me cuz FB is for old people. What??? I gave her the blank stare AND the side eye. Old people. Who the hell she calling old. Me?? Can you say o.f.f.e.n.d.e.d
But I digress. Why when somebody wants you to know something they put it on FB. What? First of all, I have don't like that passive aggressive BS. You put a comment on FB and you actually referring to a certain person, well then all yo 500 out of 5000 friends get all up in they feelings about the post. Or worse 200 comments get to going about it but all of a sudden it goes left. Next thing you know name calling starts down somewhere in the 50th comments and people getting deleted and blocked. Then somebody looking for somebody else cuz it done got out of hand and now everybody mad enough to "handle they bizness".
I have personally had a situation whereas I talked to this person the night before at 7:00 pm. Had a whole conversation with them regarding the next day. I'm not even on FB scrolling thru timelines. I hear that my plans have changed from a 3rd person. Who got the newsfeed. Really? I waited allll day. No call. Nothing. Now mind you at 10:30 am this event was supposed to happen. Why do I have to call you at 3:30. Never got a call. Social media is not a substitute for communication.
What is wrong with people. You expect me to look on FB for your availability. Come on I thought we were better than that. Just why. And you don't see nothing wrong with that. I am seriously thinking about deactivating my FB page. Maybe some will realize that my phone actually receives calls and texts.
Venting and rambling. Am I wrong for feeling this way? I'm starting to hate FB. I always heard twitter was the devil. But now I'm thinking FB too. Geesh
Soooo on Monday, I started the Weight Loss Fitness Challenge with Push Hard Fitness. Now I have literally been a couch potato for like 3 months. Now Push Hard is owned by a personal trainer named Chaz.
Now I have been going to Push Hard Fitness since March of 2013 and each time I lose crazy inches. (LOL yall thought I was gonna say weight didn't you.) I lost weight too but the inches WOW). That's the thing that got me hooked on his very very very unique style of training. So I usually stop in the summer about June July, cuz I like to play when it gets hot not work out. But I digress.
So on Monday was my first day and I took his kickboxing class, it was fun but I was sore as hell. However, I went back for more on Tuesday for weights &today my arms are sore.
So I am trying to work out at least 3-4 days a week. Like I said I am in the Weight Loss Challenge with Push Hard Fitness and some other great motivated challengers. So one of the rules of the contest is you have to work out at least 3 days. Um yeah Push Hard has strict rules in this Challenge cuz there is cash on the line here. & aint nobody trying to get disqualified in the 1st week.
Today Wednesday, will be my 3rd day, I just wanna get it over with. But I have decided to do yoga on a couple of my off days just for the flexibility. So I will be tracking my weight loss and I've already posted some ugly afterworkout sweaty selfies on FB. Nobody wants to see that.
But I will be tracking my progress here. Oh and I will do a before and after shot.
Allright yall. Remember to Push Hard!!!
Check ya later.
See if I posted everyday or even every other day like I tell myself I'm gonna, I wouldn't have this indecisiveness on what to talk about. Yall know I can go on and on.
I was gonna talk about my weekend, but hell its already Wednesday, so we gone start from now.
Tuesday at the Pines in Chicago. I love to Step, Chicago Steppin. I can always always count on getting asked to dance at the Pines, & of course DJ Roy Shannon threw down on the 1's & 2's. LOL before I started dating a DJ, I had now clue what 1s & 2s even meant. Funny.
Anywho, I hung out with my girls Q, Melvina, Tracie Lee, and Lindafitchick of course. Always fun fun fun. Thats what life is about.
The big talk was about this contest that happened over the weekend. Chicago's Largest Steppin Contest. I guess as a promoter you can call it a success if they still talking about it 4 days after its over. Of course, some of the contestants and audience members for that matter thought the contest was unfair. But hey rules are rules. One of the contestants told me that all the contestants got a copy of the rules when they signed up. Okay. Thats it for that cuz it too much controversy regarding these stepping contests. I actually don't mind the controversy, I think it makes for a more interesting night. LOL but thats just me.
OK, I would be remiss if I did not talk about Shenina's Fundraiser for Breast Cancer at 6978 Soul Food. She had a nice crowd, good food, and most of all she raised lots of money for Breast Cancer yall.
Ok til next time yall.
Yall know how much I love to dance right and by dance I mean Step. Chicago Steppin that is.
So on Tuesday night at DJ Roy Shannon's set at the Pines, he hosted a Grab Bag contest. and it was so much fun I had a ball. Guess who was the MC...ME. Yes yall they gave me the mic. I didn't think I had a lot to say but yes the hell I did.
I have to give a very special thanks to my girl Lindafitchick (her FB name) she was the moderator. We had a ball. Yea it was a contest but it was FUN. Yall should have seen me and Lindafitchick trying to convince both me and women to put their names in. I mean they made us work for it. Debra & Valerie didn't have a choice they were contestants whether they liked it or not. (Hey thats what friends are for right).Love yall.
Ok so some of the competitors were- DJ Vell (yep that aint no typo) Stevio, Kimberly Y, Kimberly T, Ayesha, Steve, Michelle, Vince.
Of course we always have more men than women, so some of the women did not get a chance to compete. But Jay Shephard next time. Definitely next time.
The crowd was all into it. The contestants yea they thought they were gonna be nervous but all in all it was BIG fun. Cuz you never know who is gonna win these things. I loved it.
The winner was Ayesha and Lawd it took me a full 10 minutes to convince her to get in it and SHE WON. See ya never know. Shout out to her partner Steve. YAY!!
I especially love the Pines, cuz no matter WHAT the dance level you will always get a dance. Ok thats all for now. Check ya later.
So I did not go into detail regarding my trip to Detroit. The party my sweetie and I went down there for was thrown by Tabita Andrews. She is the ultimate event planner, hard worker, business entrepeneur and wow just about her bizness. Like for real.
This was a VERY classy and upscale affair down to the venue. The venue was called the Tangerine Room all events took place here. I liked that name AND the color. From the meet and greet party Friday night. To the workshops Saturday afternoon taught by Pat Clay, Tmrific Alexander, Dave Maxx, (my Chitown peeps). Ann Hunter and Richard. Just naming a few.. (I know I'm forgetting some people. sorry :( )Leading into the MAIN event the party Saturday night. The brunch on Sunday was off the chain too. Tabita told me she was also a caterer...Yea she gets her hustle on. I aint mad at cha... DJ Roy, DJ Tony and DJ Rodney Mack kept the dance floor moving. I loves my music yall. AND I loves me some Pat Clay.
I met some awesome steppers in Detroit. Wait hold up.. not just steppers but ballroom dancers as well. Gotta get up on that (ballrooming that is). Always love seeing Quin Q Jones, Patrice Pye, met Ann, Drew, Sharon and a host of others from Detroit yall was super nice. Oh..it was Tai's(pronounced tie) birthday.
OK this is getting kind of long so I went to Beans and Cornbread Soulfood Restaurant in Detroit. OMG the food is spectacular. There is always a wait even for 2. So instead of waiting 20-25 minutes for a table me and my baby sat and ate at the bar. The watermelon martini was off the chain and if you EVA go there..sweetpotatocornmuffin. But everything is DELICIOUS except. I DO NOT LIKE big A-- chicken wings. No they can miss me on that one.
Lastly, I promised Nakita Friday a review on a product I bought from her. But I'm gonna post pics so thats my Saturday project.
Hello to all 2 of my viewers out there...I count myself as 1 and my mother or father is probably the 2nd viewer. LOL!!! What a fantastic weekend I had in the motor city of Detroit, MI.
Me and "myboo" had a fantastic time with our fellow steppers. Of course DJ Roy of Chicago and DJ Tony of Miami FL jammed and kept of moving for the 3 day weekend.
Lets see its been awhile. I will be posting reviews of everything..hair, makeup, books basically everything. But of course some of the crazy things that go on in my out and abouts....
Until next time..
